New Paper Affirms CO2 Has Earth-cooling Effect
In yet another new paper (Drotos et al., 2020), scientists determine the climate sensitivity to CO2 is “practically zero” the more the concentration rises.
A ~4,450 ppm CO2 concentration has cooler climates than observed in the pre-industrial (278 ppm) era. Why? A self-amplifying cloud feedback mechanism cools the Earth by magnitudes “as large as 10 K” upon warming saturation.
Earlier this year, scientists published a paper using mesocosms (controlled outdoor experiments) to demonstrate CO2 concentrations of 3,200, 7,500, and 16,900 ppm are associated with colder temperatures than in outdoor environments with 480 ppm CO2 concentrations.
Now, in another new paper (Drotos et al., 2020), several more scientists are asserting the Earth system has an internal, self-amplifying negative cloud feedback mechanism so powerful that:
“…at CO2 concentrations beyond four times the preindustrial value, the climate sensitivity decreases to nearly zero as a result of episodic global cooling events as large as 10 K.”
The cooling events spawned by the high CO2 concentrations lead to temperature “drops below the coldest values of the control [278 ppm pre-industrial CO2]” such that the climate sensitivity to CO2 doublings is “practically zero” over time.
“In particular, the climatological mean value of the global mean surface temperature practically stops responding to an increase in the CO2 concentration. This practically zero climate sensitivity suggests that the effect of feedback on the global mean surface temperature may turn out to be as strong as the radiative effect of CO2.”
In other words, scientists have found yet another way the claimed “runaway greenhouse” response of the climate system to elevated CO2 turns out to be a false alarm.

Oh great. Now, as the climate starts to cool, they will push to cut CO2 to prevent runaway cooling tipping us into an ice age. Carbon fuels just can’t win!

That is exactly why the change from global warming to climate change now it won’t matter what happens they will be right. The claim will go that due to so much CO2 the earth is now cooling to get rid of the extra. The cult will suck up the next lie and carry on,somehow all oil and gas companies bad and must be gotten rid of . The stupidity of people is unbelievable.

So let me get this straight, depending upon if the CO2 molecule is positive or negative it will either generate heat or absorb it.

1) Actually, the available empiric data – experiments with CO2 – suggest the gas has a cooling effect on heated objects. This is simply because it increased the ability of the air to transfer heat away from the heated object. However, the effect is negligible at the concentrations we are speaking about.
2) Geraint Hughes’ experiments which are available for study here at principia scientific, demonstrate this.
3) So do the Norwegian experiments which are discussed here:
Unfortunately in Norwegian. I am trying to persuade the experimenters to release a video or description in English (I can understand Norwegian, but only about 20 mio. Scandinavians can).
4) But the two of you above are absolutely right. NOW IS THE TIME TO DOWNLOAD ALL IPCC’S ASSESSMENT REPORTS BEFORE THEY ARE DELETED! For soon, the IPCC will announce their latest, groundbreaking discovery: More CO2 in the atmosphere caused global cooling! and we are threatened by global cooling! We’ve known it all along! (that isn’t even a lie – all geologists know this) – so now we have to reduce CO2 Emissions due to the threat of global cooling.
5) Thus, we have come full circle from the global cooling scare in the 1970’s, over the global warming scare 1988 – 2020, and now – over climate change and climate disruption – we shall arrive at the global cooling scare.
6) My fellow citizens of the world: It is time to erect the guilliotines on which the heads of the people promoting these scares must be severed from their bodies so they can no longer peddle their hateful lies, manipulation and propaganda.
