Global Cooling expected to last from 2020-2055

Earth heading into solar minimum that may causes major cooling and is expected to last from 2020-2055

Turns out the world isn’t going to end in 12 years as the media and AOC have so firmly stated. It’s not about protecting the environment for TPTB, they want a social and economic revolution, more control and more division within the country

It’s nice to see some real science finally and not just alarmism:

“The resulting summary curve reveals a remarkable resemblance to the sunspot and terrestrial activity reported in the past millennia including the significant grand solar minima: Maunder Minimum (1645–1715), Wolf minimum (1200), Oort minimum (1010–1050), Homer minimum (800–900 BC) combined with the grand solar maxima: the medieval warm period (900–1200), the Roman warm period (400–10BC) etc. It also predicts the upcoming grand solar minimum, similar to Maunder Minimum, which starts in 2020 and will last until 2055.”

October 2, 2019 ‘There is no climate emergency,’ hundreds of scientists, engineers tell U.N.

Lost amid the coverage of Swedish teen activist Greta Thunberg at last week’s U.N. Global Climate Summit were the 500 international scientists, engineers and other stakeholders sounding a very different message: “There is no climate emergency.”

I’ve had “in search of” on my yourube subscriptions for years. Nemoy and scientists of the 60s and 70s seemed to be much more practical. And yes, solar cycle 25 has gone off with a freezing whimper, winter is coming indeed.

If this solar minimum follows the usual track then probably this year will be cooler than usual, however, the colder winters usually occur one and two years after the actual minimum.

      Hi TomOmason.
Many people reference a 25 year buffer because of the ocean relative temperature stability, I was wondering how that may interface with solar minimum.
I guess near coast areas stay a little more stable whilst inner continental have wider extremes but I have no crystal ball.
      Cheers. Matt

I have no dispute with you about the effects to climate and the 25-30 year buffer period.

However I am referring to the short term (the weather), and this solar cycle and the observational records that shows it usually takes about 1-2 years after a cycle’s minimum before the coldest winter weather occurs. Exactly how cold that winter weather gets depends what the climate regime is current at the time — a warm, intermediate, or cold climate period.
Note:- IMO climate can only be reasonably assessed over approximately 60 to 100 years periods.

    Did you read the paper?
“Based on the growth rate of 0.5 C per 100 years for the terrestrial temperature since Maunder minimum, one can anticipate that the increase of the solar baseline magnetic field expected to occure up to (year) 2600 because of SIM will lead, in turn, to the increase of the terrestrial baseline temperature since MM (Maunder Minimum e.g. “Little ice age”) by 1.3 °C (in year 2100) and, at least, by 2.5–3.0 °C (in year 2600).”

Question from a climate skeptic who is just trying to better understand the science being proposed by both sides. Are the claims of “global cooling expected to last from 2020-2055” and “the last 4 years are the four hottest years on record” both true?

      Hi Ray,
The last four years are the hottest on record if you started keeping records 4 years ago. We know from history and evidence that Greenland was once green and not covered by glaciers.
Foretelling the future climate is never certain but if history repeats and we are entering a grand solar minimum its’s a good bed that it will be colder in the foreseeable future.

This study does not take into account the effects of human involvement in our ecosystems. Climate change is real, (climate always changes), just how much is affected by humans is up to debate.
