Feds Remove Warning That Glaciers ‘Will All Be Gone’ by 2020

The National Park Service (NPS) is trying to backtrack from their failed predictions of climate doom. They recently removed a warning from a Glacier National Park claiming that glaciers “will all be gone” by 2020 due to global warming fears.

The predictions, which were based off of faulty computer models in the early 2000s, have been invalidated by mother nature. There has been much more snowfall than what was previously anticipated by the so-called experts in recent years.

“Glacier retreat in Glacier National Park speeds up and slows down with fluctuations in the local climate,” said the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) to The Daily Caller News Foundation.

“Those signs were based on the observation prior to 2010 that glaciers were shrinking more quickly than a computer model predicted they would,” the USGS added. “Subsequently, larger than average snowfall over several winters slowed down that retreat rate and the 2020 date used in the NPS display does not apply anymore.”

The sign has been changed to a much more nebulous warning to avoid the embarrassment of more incorrect predictions. It states: “When they completely disappear, however, will depend on how and when we act.”

The bureaucrats and scientists have not completely given up on their religious belief of climate climate, however, as it says on their website that the glaciers will now disappear between 2030 and 2080.

“The overall picture remains the same, however, and that picture is that the glaciers all continue to retreat,” the USGS said.

The USGS estimates that glaciers have shrunk 70 percent from the 1850s until 2015. This is a trend scientists believe has been going on since the ice age, when 146 glaciers covered the area opposed to 26 as of 2019.

The removal of the sign was initially discovered by blogger Roger Roots who was able to publicize the embarrassing failure on the part of the hysteria-inducing bureaucrats.

“Almost everywhere, the Park’s specific claims of impending glacier disappearance have been replaced with more nuanced messaging indicating that everyone agrees that the glaciers are melting,” Roots wrote.

“Now the Park Service is scrambling to remove the signs without their visitors noticing,” Roots added on his Facebook page.
