Facebook Ramps Up Censorship, Threats Against Climate Skeptics
On May 18th I was made aware of a notification a Facebook group admin had received from them about content shared in the group. I am a fellow admin in the group, but did not receive any such notification. The ‘offending’ post was apparently from April 27th, but Fb only informed the admin on May 18th.
The post was a tongue-in-cheek reference to Greta Thunberg being annoyed that a warming planet will help stifle the Covid-19 virus. The notification said the post had been removed because it ‘violates our Community Standards.’, and then said if this continues the group may be ‘disabled’. In other words, shut down.
I have previously seen notifications from Fb that say if they disapprove of group content new posts may be pushed down the page so they are not readily visible, but this is the first instance I am aware of where Fb have made an overt threat to shut down a group because they disapprove of what is posted there, and in my view it sets a concerning and dangerous precedent.
In the image above, you can see Fb also claims the post is ‘misinformation’ that ‘could cause physical harm.’ Physical harm? To whom? Frankly, I fail to see how that is even possible.
The image above shows the options the group admin was offered to ‘deal with’ the offending post. They include blocking, muting or removing the person from the group. The admin chose to message the person to ask him not to add any more posts that feature Greta.
The upshot of all this is that Facebook is now saying they will flag as spam or misinformation anything that is not left-wing, or in this case, speaks out against, or pokes fun at, the ‘climate emergency’ or Greta Thunberg, and threaten to shut down groups that allow such posts.
I think we can safely assume Facebook is now completely dominated and controlled by left-wing activists, and are actively seeking to stifle and censor what they do not like. The so-called ‘fact-checking’ groups they employ are composed almost entirely of left-wing and extreme left-wing voices, and they seem to be ramping up their efforts to push the left-wing agenda and censor people and prevent free-speech.

Hi Andy, thanks for highlighting censorship.
Its happening in a more widespread way now than before, millions of youtube videos are being removed and comments deleted , many from last year & is now being ramped up or so it seems. Anything that significantly diverts from the energy of the mainstream/gov/UN directive.
I am sure that we will look back prior to 2020 as the golden era of the free internet.
Online life is reflecting offline life – restriction and removal of liberty.
The masks appear to be symbolic of this.
