NASA’s Cassini Probe & Evidence of Electromagnetism on Saturn and its Moons

This latest article is one of a series addressing the work of science writer Edsel Chromie. Now retired Chromie has been at the forefront of helping discern unexplained electrical forces in nature.  Below we show how NASA’s 2004 Cassini-Huygens space mission  not only contradicted conventional explanations about volcanism and gravitational forces but enhanced the credibility of an electromagnetic influence in the Saturn system. cassini

In the previous article,‘Electromagnetism, Saturn’s Rings & The “Geysers” Of Enceladus’ we saw that Chromie had alighted upon a fascinating re-interpretation of perceived “geysers” on the moon of Enscheladus when applying the well-established science of electricity. [Image: NASA]

Applying evidence from the NASA’s Cassini-Huygens mission, one of the most ambitious ever launched, we look afresh at Saturn and its moons. Loaded with an array of powerful instruments and cameras, the spacecraft has taken very accurate measurements and detailed images in a variety of atmospheric conditions and light spectra. From July 2004 Cassini has been beaming home valuable data that has helped overturn previous assumptions in our understanding of the Saturnian system.

For years there has been speculation that gravity flexing might be the cause of the heat in places where the ambient temperature measured by the Cassini spacecraft is minus 300 degrees Fahrenheit.

But an unconvinced Chromie writes, “I would like to see any scientist take a piece of frozen carp from a freezer and try to flex it sufficiently to increase the temperature even ten degrees.”

Chromie highlights a key issue: “The same problem is evident with the volcanoes of Io and Europa. There aren’t any volcano cones or any other evidence of volcano eruptions.”

The Cassini spacecraft has built in ability to “see” in wavelengths of light and energy and “feel” things about magnetic fields and tiny dust particles that no human hand could detect.[image above courtesy Max Planck Institute] The fields and particles instruments take “in situ” (on site) direct sensing measurements of the environment around the spacecraft. These instruments measure magnetic fields, mass, electrical charges and densities of atomic particles. They also measure the quantity and composition of dust particles, the strengths of plasma (electrically charged gas), and radio waves.

Also, notes Chromie, scientists cannot determine how the heat is created to provide liquid water on Enceladus or the molten lava of Io and Europa.

“There has been years of speculation of the decay of various elements but that has finally been ruled out by NASA.”

But what has been observed is compelling evidence supporting Chromie’s decades’ old analysis that these are distinguishable manifestations of electromagnetic activities. In our previous article about Enceladus Edsel Chromie showed how long-established laboratory experiments with electricity produce remarkably similar effects as those seen in Saturn’s rings and the “geysers” of Enceladus. The “geysers” exhibit strong magnetic field current flow that is consistent and reproducible here on earth in any lab.

Conventional research has been stubbornly focused on explanations reliant on the gravitational flexing of a mass hundreds of miles in diameter to create a temperature of hundreds if not thousands of degrees. The scientists consider gravity but completely ignore the fact that each of these anomalies occur where there is an abnormally intense magnetic field of Saturn and Jupiter.

“It is the same magnetic field that I use in my demonstrations and explanations of these phenomena,” says Chromie.

Space scientists have been contradictory of each other with their interpretations. Linda Spiker, a member of the Cassini Imaging team wrote to Chromie in unconvincing tones: “The main rings of Saturn are held to a very thin plane in Saturn’s equator by the oblateness of Saturn itself.”

However, Carolyn Porco (July 1, 2008) wrote to tell Chromie: “With all due respect to Linda Spiker, this is not why Saturn’s rings are so thin. Saturn’s rings are in the plane they are in because of the oblateness of Saturn. But they are thin because the inevitable collisions among them, which are inelastic and therefore result in a loss of energy but conserve angular momentum overall, cause them to settle into that plane in a very thin equilibrated sheet. And it is the orbital speeds that are 20 – 40 thousand miles per hour. The orbital speeds now, in the equilibrated ring plane are millimeters per second. And for the record, we have no problem whatsoever explaining the speeds of orbiting bodies and particles. And their speeds are not an illusion. Cassini has a detector that measures the masses and velocities of tiny dust particles and has verified these speeds.”

The above contradictions are typical of the replies received for years by Chromie from establishment scientists whenever he has sought to engage them in discussion of his novel thesis.

“Despite decades seeking to find the answers NASA still cannot explain where the phenomenal amount of particles came from and how they managed to become concentrated in the immense and very thin ring plane and how the bizarre anomalies are created with solid particles reflecting sunlight and how the heat is generated,” he laments.

Chromie questions how these phenomena are created without any physical evidence of residue or volcano cones. By contrast he cites laboratory experiments, “My pragmatic demonstration proves that an invisible magnetic field can combine with equally invisible atoms of gases to assimilate every detail of these phenomena.”

Then on June 22, 2011 a NASA news release titled “Cassini Captures Ocean-like Spray at Saturn Moon” added to the murky picture and stated: “When water freezes, the salt is squeezed out, leaving pure water ice behind.”

It referred to “salt rich ice particles that have an ‘ocean-like’ composition.” Cassini is said to have found that relatively large ice grains rich in sodium and potassium dominate the plumes. “And the icy particles hit the detector at speeds between 16,000 and 36,000 mph, vaporizing instantly.”

Cassini’s sensors measured the warmest temperature around Enceladus at minus 145 degrees Fahrenheit. At that temperature the water ice would be as hard as a rock and certainly would not “vaporize instantly” when hitting the particle detector at 16,000 to 36,000 mph but would almost certainly destroy Cassini’s sensors.

“Very clearly it was simply sodium gases that hit the detector – the very same gases that we have used for decades lighting our highways by simply passing a magnetic field current through the gases,” says Chromie.

  1. C. Krupp, the then Director of the Griffith Observatory wrote a letter to Edsel Chromie on January 30, 1997 in which he asserted: “Even if anomalies turn out to be suggestive, however, they are anomalies. We don’t normally construct hypotheses that explain anomalies. We try to explain the preponderance of data and deal with anomalies after the foundation is established.”

But the data gathered by the Cassini spacecraft appears to show that if the rings were caused by particles reflecting sunlight it is impossible to explain all of the anomalies recorded. Indeed, as Chromie asserts, solid particles would have destroyed the spacecraft. But to former science writer and researcher the only credible explanation that could account for all these anomalies is electromagnetism.

He writes, “Cassini has given us the evidence. We see it from the invisible magnetic field current swirling around Saturn to stimulate the invisible atoms of gases that are in the path of the energy flow to be stimulated to a visible, glowing state of excitement. From that the true explanation is discernible.”

Chromie concludes, “My explanation of applying the proven characteristics of electromagnetic energy to address the detail of the rings, the geysers and the volcanoes better answers the aforementioned anomalies, while the conventional explanation about particles reflecting sunlight does not answer these questions.”

If science is about searching for and detecting better explanations of natural phenomena then the forces of electromagnetism –  persuasively argued in the work of Edsel Chromie –  requires serious consideration.
